The Anambra Patriots for Soludo has flagged off the “Branding Anambra” project with the distribution of branded aprons to traders at Coca-Cola Market, Okpoko, in Ogbaru Local Government Area.
The initiative is a significant step towards promoting hygiene decency and orderliness across markets in the state.
At the flag off of the project, the Managing Director, Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) and Convener of the group, Okey Ezeobi, said the project is designed to give Anambra a new look by instilling a culture of hygiene among traders.
Ezeobi said “We are here with a group of young people known as Anambra Patriots to flag off a project called Branding Anambra.
“We want our market men and women to look clean and decent.
“The aprons we are distributing have pouches to help traders keep their money safe while doing business,” Ezeobi stated.
The BPP MD emphasized that the initiative will be extended to other market to promote decency.

It will also help to promote a more business friendly environment in line with Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo development agenda.
In his remarks, Chairman, Anambra Patriots for Soludo, Ejiamatu Enekwechi, reiterated that the visit was strictly to encourage cleanliness among traders.
“We are not here for politics. We are here to preach cleanliness and help our traders safeguard their money.
“The aprons come with zippers and are easy to maintain,” he said.
Enekwechi noted that the Patriots would continue the distribution across markets in Anambra State.
He also expressed satisfaction with the level of cleanliness already observed in Coca-Cola Market during the event.
Traders full of gratitudes
Traders in the market appreciated the group for the gesture.
One of them, Eberechukwu James, a plantain trader from Abia State, praised the Soludo’s administration for its infrastructural development.
“The roads are good, the streets look like London, and the market is now clean with proper drainage.
We are solidly behind Soludo,” she said.
Similarly, a rice trader from Nkpor, Uzoma Arinze, hailed the apron initiative, noting its practicality.
“My old apron had no zip or pouch, but this one is different and even has Soludo’s face on it.
“People love it. We are happy and want Soludo to go for a second term,” he added.
The group during the visit distributed 3000 aprons to traders.
