Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur took major steps toward setting up an all-English Europa League final.

United defeated Athletic Bilbao 3-0 in Spain, powered by Casemiro’s header and a Bruno Fernandes double.

The first of the double came from a penalty after Bilbao’s Dani Vivian was sent off.

Tottenham beat Bodø/Glimt 3-1 at home, with Brennan Johnson and James Maddison scoring early before Dominic Solanke added a penalty.

A late goal by Ulrik Saltnes gave the visitors a glimmer of hope for the second leg.

United aim to add to their 2017 Europa League title, while Spurs look for their third, having last won it as the UEFA Cup.
