The Federal Government has secured about $191M from Gavi to strengthen the health systems of the country.
Dr Alex de Jonquières, Gavi’s Director of Health Systems and Immunisation Strengthening, made the announcement in Abuja.
The Announcement was made at tge launch of Gavi Health Systems Strengthening Support -3 to Nigeria.
He said the grant would help improve immunisation coverage and reaching underserved populations.
Also speaking, Prof. Muhammad Pate, Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, said Gavi investment in Nigeria has saved millions of lives.
Pate said also enabled the country to introduce new vaccines, including HPV, malaria and Monkey pox vaccines.
Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance is a public-private partnership that helps vaccinate the world’s children against some of the world’s deadliest diseases.
