Parents who have children at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State, will be receiving timely notification of their wards’ performances online from next academic session.
Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Joseph Ikechebelu disclosed this at the celebration of the 2025 World Book Day organized by the University Library.
He said students were already receiving results of their examinations on their handheld devices immediately the exercises were over.
Ikechebelu attributed the strides to improved digitization processes in the university and commitments of Faculty Deans and Heads of Departments, especially in approving students’ results.
He said, “We’re improving on our digitization processes. You want to know authentic staff of UNIZIK, just google the name.
“Our students today are receiving results of their exams on their handheld devices as soon as the exam is over.
“In the first semester exams, General Studies further improved that within 6 hours of taking the exams, the students have received their results.
“All faculties are working round the clock, kudos to our Deans who are approving their results and pursing their HODs and others.
“We’re actually going to the next level of innovation. Our digital processes are continuing.
“By the next academic session, even parents will be receiving a notification of their wards performance online.
The Acting VC assured that parents will no longer wait endlessly to know their wards’ performance.
“They will be receiving timely notices from our portals of their wards results. We’re keying into that device
“Next academic session, from admission till arrival of students to the campus, everything will be done digitally.
“That is the university that’s representing the digital transformation at the modern age we’re in.
Other achievements
Ikechebelu further enumerated other areas of breakthroughs of his administration to include steady power supply, improved security, excellence in academics and research, among others.
“God has been helping us in the business of redefining UNIZIK, including the beautiful gate and perimeter fencing.
“We’ve embarked on lighting up the institution. We’re meeting up with EEDC homongous bills which has enabled us to have 18-hour light per day.
“This is with support of other methods of power generation, including solar and generators.
“We’re not also reneging in our efforts to attain excellence. Today, our staff and students are excelling in different areas of research and academic manifestations.
He expressed optimism that all these will translate into better rating for the university later in June.
“We’re sure we’ll be somewhere better than where we were last year.
Ikechebelu said the university management is also embarking on safe and secure UNIZIK, with the revamping of security apparatus.
This he noted will help to ensure adequate protection of lives and property of the university community.
