Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo says his second term would centre on specific projects that would further boost his quest for a green, livable and prosperous homeland.
The governor said in doing this, he would ensure sustenance of projects already achieved in his first term.
Soludo disclosed this in a statement by his Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime.
He noted that his three-year track record has silenced doubters and inspired believers, adding that, “what is coming next is even more compelling.”
Soludo listed the projects to include; three new smart cities, Anambra mixed-use industrial city and rail project to connect specific cities in the state.
Other projects are digital access to medical consultations, development of tourist sites, bursary for Anambra students, among others.
The statement reveals that Governor Soludo’s next chapter is about scale and sustainability.
“Three new smart cities, namely Awka 2.0, Next Onitsha, and the Anambra Mixed-Use Industrial City (AMIC), are poised to redefine urban living in Nigeria.
“A comprehensive Oncology Centre, Anambra’s answer to Nigeria’s growing cancer burden.
“This will complement the telemedicine backbone already in place, ensuring that quality healthcare reaches not just cities but the most remote wards.
“Every resident, wherever they live, will have real-time digital access to medical consultations. Health emergencies will meet smart responses.
“Rural births will receive world-class care. Governor Soludo’s health vision is radical in its simplicity: every life must count.
A future full of promise
“The next frontier, Anambra Transport Masterplan will deliver a state rail network, linking major commercial centres, dualisation of more Trunk A highways across the state.
“A modern mass transit system, combining BRTs, water transport, and digital ticketing. This is about productivity, ease, and environmental responsibility.
The statement further explained that the Governor will unlock Anambra’s untapped tourism goldmines to merge heritage with hospitality.
Government will develop Ogbunike Caves, Owerre-Ezukala Waterfalls, and Agulu Lake into world-class eco-tourism destinations. with supporting infrastructure, security and luxury accommodations.
“The Marriott Hotel in Awka, with the groundwork on-going, will anchor a new era of business and leisure tourism.
“Culture, once an afterthought, will become commerce. The way of life of the people will be projected respectfully and sustainably.
To ensure that students also benefit, the statement says that government will launch a comprehensive Anambra Students’ Bursary Scheme.
According to the statement, while Governor Soludo’s three-year track record has silenced doubters and inspired believers, what is ahead is even more compelling.
“It is a future where digital connectivity meets social equity, where health is accessible, roads are navigable, cities are livable, and the environment is breathable.
In conclusion, the statement assures that Anambra faces a future where citizens will measure state transformation not by applause, but impact.
It adds that Anambra, once a departure lounge, will become the dream destination as the government has activated the acceleration mode.
