Group hails Soludo on war against kidnapping, violent crimes

A group, ‘Great Egbuche Old Boys Association’, Fegge Onitsha, Anambra State has expressed satisfaction with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s war against kidnapping, armed robbery and other violent crimes in the State.

Chairman, Chief Emeka Mbachu made the commendation during the maiden celebration of the association.

He warned youths in the area not to involve themselves in any kind of violent crimes and criminality.

Mbachu reminded the youths that death awaited those who want to get rich quick.

Underscoring the need for children’s Bock Rosary Crusade, Mbachu said, “it’s a means of instilling discipline in children as most of the beneficiaries of today’s gifts are members of the Crusade.”

He added, “No member of this association is a kidnapper, armed robbery, Okeite, Ibobo, Ezenwanyi, among others because we were brought up by disciplined families.

Mbachu advised they youths to be patient in all they do so as not to get into trap.

“In our own time, we worked as apprentice traders and today we are enjoying the fruit of our labour.

“We should have fear of God in all we do, learn trade to be self reliant.

He advised them to avoid acts capable of dragging us to the mud for God loves peace and not violence.

“This occasion is financially sponsored by those who were born and grown up here in Egbuche street, Fegge, some of them are in diaspora while some are in Nigeria.”

Other pieces of advice

In their various remarks, three patrons of the association, Chukwudi Onwuji, Okechukwu Ezeoffor and Bright Onyeduri advised the youths to be of good behaviour.

They admonished them to avoid dragging the association’s image to the mud.

A matron of the Block Rosary Crusade, Mrs Juliana Agu described get rich quick syndrome as deadly trap.

She advised the youths to be of good behaviour if they want to make haven.

Earlier, Mrs Chikodili Mbachu, wife to the chairman said she had always been an advocate of good child upbringing.

The event included presentation of #20000, chaplets and candles by the chairman to 75 punctual Block Rosary Crusade members.

Over 200 Egbuche street children received gift items including books, pencils, pen, water cans, among others.
