The Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria has honoured Dr. George Moghalu, the Labour Party (LP) candidate in the November 8, Anambra governorship election, with an award of excellence in leadership.
The event which took place at Moghalu’s country home in Uruagu-Nnewi, drew a delegation of the bishops led by the Most Rev. Mike Uchenna Chukwudum.
Archbishop Chukwudum said the recognition was in appreciation of Moghalu’s exemplary leadership over the years.
Chukwudum, who serves as the Overseer of the Conference’s Anambra State Chapter, commended Moghalu for the integrity and dedication he has demonstrated in public service.
“This award is a reflection of the track record we have observed,” he said.
“We are confident that God is preparing him for greater responsibilities, including the governorship of Anambra State.”
Also in attendance was Bishop D.C. Okereke, the Chaplain General of the group, who also lauded LP candidate’s track records.
He expressed optimism about Moghalu’s chances in the forthcoming November 8 election.
The awardee, Dr. Moghalu, the immediate past Managing Director and CEO, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), expressed deep gratitude for the honour.
“I’m truly humbled by this award—especially because I didn’t solicit it,” he remarked.
“This kind of gesture inspires me to do more. I believe that when God calls, He also equips.
I am committed to serving my people with diligence and to leaving behind a legacy worth remembering,” Moghalu assured.
The award marks yet another milestone in Moghalu’s journey as he continues to gain momentum ahead of the gubernatorial race.
