Support Security Agencies with Intelligence: NGF Urges Nigerians

Nigerian Governors Forum

Nigerians have been urged to provide security agencies with actionable intelligence to combat persistent security threats across the country.

The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdurrahman Abdulrazaq, made the call in Jos, Plateau State.

Abdulrazaq led a delegation of governors on a sympathy visit to the government and people of Plateau State, following recent deadly attacks on some communities.

He maintained that security agencies will efficiently perform their duties when citizens speak out and provide vital information on perceived threat to lives and property.

The NGF Chairman described peace as the foundation of any progressive society.

Abdulrazaq also noted that absence of peace in Plateau and other parts of the country is detrimental to development at all levels of government.

Responding, the Governor of Plateau State, Mr Caleb Mutfwang, noted that the state had enjoyed relative peace for over a year prior to recent attacks.

He lamented that the attacks had set back its development strides and called on all residents regardless of religious or ethnic differences, to shun violence.

On the visit were other governors – Senator Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Reverend Hyacinth Alia (Benue), and Professor Babagana Zulum (Borno).

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State also attended while Governor Abdulahi Sule of Nasarawa State was represented by his Deputy.
